Qualifications University degree; MBA/PhD is a plus 7+ years of eCommerce supply chain/logistics related business experience; prior consulting experience is a plus Deep knowledge and understanding of the eCommerce logistics industry and the surrounding ecosystem Excellent problem solving capabilities Strong project management skills Strong presentation skills; Experience leading training sessions or workshops is a plus Ability to coach and mentor less tenured colleagues Ability to thrive in a fast past and often ambiguous environment Excellent verbal and written communications in English Who You'll Work With You will be based in one of our offices in North America and will be part of our global Travel, Logistics & Infrastructure Practice (TLI). This group helps clients solve their toughest challenges when it comes to Travel (i.e., getting people from one place to another) and Logistics (i.e., moving goods around the world). They also advise clients on the best ways to build and maintain the Infrastructure (airports, ports, roads, railroads) needed for these activities. Our aspiration is to help our clients be more efficient and sustainable. As a expert in eCommerce Operations, you will work mainly in the Logistics subsector with strong ties into other cells that are relevant for eCommerce Operations (e.g., Consumer, Supply Chain). What You'll Do There are two primary roles you will play as a expert in eCommerce Operations. First, you will directly serve clients and coach client service teams on eCommerce Operations.  You will serve clients as a subject matter expert in eCommerce Operations, including: leading problem-solving sessions, guiding the team on how to structure and answer client questions, facilitating client workshops in the course of an engagement, presenting output to senior clients as a McKinsey Expert. You will contribute significantly to client development, including driving the proposal process as a subject matter expert. Depending on your area of focus or client needs, you may be asked to travel to your client site, which may be located in a different geography from where you are based. Secondly, you will be a content thought leader and core practice leader to our growing eCommerce Operations practice.  In this role you will lead research and development of new knowledge for our global Travel, Logistics & Infrastructure Practice, with a primary focus on eCommerce Operations. You will provide insights into complex client problems and shape deliverables with research and analytics support. You will shape our eCommerce Operations knowledge agenda and will identify and assess opportunities for eCommerce Operations related knowledge-building initiatives and contribute to the problem structuring, research, and analysis on these projects. You will establish a robust network by playing a pivotal role in internal dissemination and external reputation building. This includes external publications, white papers, client roundtables, capability building forums and McKinsey appearances at industry events. You will also lead internal training sessions to showcase the latest approaches and developments in eCommerce Operations.
